I had a customer request a special Valentine's Day bookmark, today, inspired by my happy elephant birthday card....
Actually I misread her request (oopsie!) and thought she wanted a Valentine version... She had originally just asked for the birthday ellie on a bookmark to give as a Valentine gift! I drew up a Valentiney sketch and she ended up liking it more! :) (yay!)

I have to tell you about the bookmark you made for me. I loved it so much that I gave it to him for my birthday on Feb. 20 (my tradition of giving people gifts on my b-day... a whole other story there). My husband was thrilled with it, to the point he was willing to use it at work. Well this is the story I heard from the secretary who works in the warehouse with my husband.
My husband, Robert, was sitting in the lunch room eating lunch and reading his book. He had sat the bookmark upon the table and didn't think anything about it.
One of the men who works with him made a snide remark about the "cutesy, girly" elephant bookmark and how it was taking away his manhood. Robert, without a second thought said, "At least my wife loves me enough to get me an efalump for her birthday. I bet your wife convinced you to give her a silly ol'bit of jewelry for her birthday." He then wen back to eating his lunch and reading.
From what the secretary said, the man was so stunned by this that he said, "Well, you don't have to rub it in!"
So thank you for helping my husband to sticking it to the macho men at the OSU Power Plant!
