Flat Notecards

I recently had a customer request some handpainted postcards from me. I couldn't really come up with a way that would keep the cards safe through the mail with no protection (like an envelope.)

So, I tried my hand at making some flat notecards, with envelopes. I think they came out nice! It was actually harder to make them than regular cards (much to my surprise!)... When I glued them together, I had nowhere to put my hands to hold it down (since anywhere I would hold it was covered with the watercolor paper.) I ended up getting glue all over me! (which I can't stand LOL eww)

Anyway, here's a look! I like how they turned out ;)

Getting Ready for Lollishops!

If you haven't heard, there is a new online marketplace opening up for all things handmade and cute! Its called Lollishops and it will be opening soon! Check out their website for more information, and sign up to be notified of the grand opening! (hooray!)
LolliShops is a juried, online selling venue for talented artists, collectors of vintage and art supply vendors

I'm creating a whole new line of cards and fun stuff to put in my shop there... Very cutesy and sweet! Here's a sneak peek of some things I've been working on.
Enjoy!

I'm Still Here!

I haven't been posting much lately... but I've been really busy! My next plan is to build a "light box" for taking better photos. My pictures are so dark, and don't bring out the true, bright colors of my cards. I also just discovered the "macro" function on my camera for taking more detailed, close-up pictures... Hopefully I'll get some time to do this soon... I have a pile of spring cards ready to go!

I also just completed a set of 40 custom baby shower invitations... I was given a theme of butterflies or fairies, pink, and purple for a girl. The cards are going to be used as shower favors by keeping them blank, and a print-out with the shower information placed inside them. They will be mailed out with their matching envelopes, and placed inside a larger envelope so the recipient can re-use the card! Here's a look at the finished set:
