Kids Cookie Decorating Extravaganza

I can't take the credit for this one, but it sure was a good idea and lots of fun! We were invited to a holiday cookie decorating party at a friend's house. She had premade the dough and baked up lots of gingerbread cut outs while we were there.

The guests were to bring decorating supplies. I went through the cabinet and pulled out an assortment of random goodies. I didn't have anything that was in traditional Christmas colors... As a result, the cookies came out really colorful and fun! Other guests brought red/green/white, so it was quite a mix!

The kids ate the cookies as they finished decorating them...
There were a few kids (ages 4-6), and it probably got as messy as you can imagine it would! We let the kids go crazy, and they made some funky-delicious treats!

Don't be afraid to make a mess! You can clean it up later :)
The ones that didn't get eaten were packed up as gifts from the kids for their parents and grandparents. This was an awesome tradition to start, and would be fun as a family event too! I hope we do it again next year :)

Non-traditional holiday colors are just as fun!

Don't think the adults didn't get in on the cookie decorating action! ;)

My Boy is 2!!! :D

Happy Birthday!! :)

Well, its been an exciting and crazily, busy weekend! We saw friends and family, had cookouts, went to a parade, ate cupcakes, opened presents, played with balloons, AND I finished the bathroom floor just in time for the party! :) Still more work to do, and I'm exhausted!!

I've been re-thinking my shop the past few days.... My cards, how I make them, everything about it really. Its still very fun and exciting, but I wonder if I could do better? (Good question to ask one's self!) My goal for the coming year is to do some shows, which means I need more product, and to be more organized. I have also been considering having some cards printed... I love the look and feel of glossy printed cards, but I also love the handmade quality of the painted cards. I'm torn on this, and its on my mind alot.

We'll see what happens! For now, my little boy is sleeping, and I can't believe he's two years old! :)

Sneak Peek ;)

I am incredibly busy this week... and I know I said I wasn't going to work on any cards, but how can I not?? ;) Next week, I'll be adding a pile of cards to my shop. It seems I have the most creative ideas when I have absolutely no time to work on them ;) For now, its back to the bathroom! :p

On a fun note... My son went to his first "friend" birthday party on Sunday. He spent most of the afternoon with his face planted into a cupcake (which he decorated himself! and redecorated.. then ate... and redecorated...) He wouldn't touch the cupcake because it was messy, so he ate it with his face like a food-eating-contest-champion ;) Woohoo!
